O Give Thanks Unto The Lord

I love this time of the year: the cold crisp mornings; the freshness of the air; the colorful array of nature; all of this brings a nostalgic warmth to my heart. November will be a very busy month. FIRST, our annual Book Faire will be held Monday, November 17th through Friday,...

"I was one of the first students to attend BBCA when the doors opened in 1990. It was my ninth grade year and I was a rebellious teenager at the time. I had previously been enrolled in the local high school and was part of the "bad crowd." We'd go off campus during lunches to hang out and stir up trouble. That is when the new church we started attending decided to open a school. The thought of rules and uniforms didn't suit me at all.

I finished my last 3 years at BBCA and graduated as the only graduate of the 1992-1993 school year. The school was quite small at that time. When it began the WHOLE SCHOOL fit in one classroom! It is such a blessing to see us in every available room now. I use the word "us" because BBCA is part of me even to this day. BBCA helped to mold me into the adult that I am today. I believe my standards and morals were molded in this school.

I was there when the doors opened. I was there to see the teachers and families personally sacrifice to keep the school going. And every year since I started there, I have been involved or investing in some way or another. Why? Because BBCA gave me the foundation that I needed to be the person I am today. And three years ago, I got the very proud honor of enrolling my daughter, Margaret, in the greatest school in our area.

Now that my daughter is a student of BBCA, I am more involved than ever. BBCA is a school that allows a parent to visit whenever you want or need to: to check up on your child’s progress, talk with the staff, or just join your child for lunch? Not to mention share any ideas for starting new programs. My thoughts and needs have always been addressed and taken into consideration. I have always felt heard. Just this week we attended a meeting that introduced a new music program into our school...at no extra charge. I can honestly tell you that BBCA just keeps getting better. I should know; I've be there since day one.

I encourage you to enroll your child or children into BBCA. The education, morals, values, safety, and love this school provides are worth 10 times the cost of tuition! I wasn't thrilled as a teenager, but today, words can't express my thankfulness to my parents for making that decision.

Hope to see you in the halls at BBCA,"

Donna Chamblee - Class of 1993
